Optimasi Sistem Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Dengan Cairan Urea Untuk Reduksi Emisi NOx Pada Mesin Diesel Caterpillar 3600 Pembangkit Listrik

Emisi nitrogen oksida (NOx) dari mesin diesel pembangkit listrik merupakan tantangan utama dalam mencapai standar emisi lingkungan yang semakin ketat sesuai Peraturan Menteri LHK No. 13 Tahun 2021. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas teknologi Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) menggunakan cairan urea dalam mereduksi emisi NOx pada mesin diesel Caterpillar 3600 series di PT Puncak Jaya Power. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan eksperimental dengan desain before-after control impact (BACI) pada tiga unit mesin (LIP-1, LIP-2, LIP-3) dengan pengukuran emisi menggunakan Continuous Emission Monitoring System (CEMS) sesuai standar ISO 8178. Data baseline menunjukkan emisi NOx rata-rata 806 ppm sebelum optimasi sistem SCR. Setelah implementasi dan optimasi parameter operasional SCR, unit LIP-4 berhasil mencapai reduksi NOx hingga 68,2% dengan emisi turun dari 286 ppm menjadi 91 ppm. Namun, unit LIP-1, LIP-2, dan LIP-3 masih menunjukkan emisi tinggi rata-rata 900 ppm, mengindikasikan perlunya optimasi lebih lanjut pada parameter suhu operasi, rasio stoikiometri urea, dan kondisi katalis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem SCR dengan pengaturan optimal mampu memenuhi target emisi <200 ppm, namun memerlukan penyesuaian spesifik untuk setiap unit mesin berdasarkan kondisi operasional dan karakteristik katalis.
